Intermission – Parents
Hello Everyone! Seeing as yesterday was Mother’s Day, I thought it would be good to show some concept sketches of Siegfried and Benno’s parents! Here are the King and Queen when Siegfried’s Father was still around.
The biggest challenge/thing to keep in mind for these concepts was how to make their father look like both Siegfried and Benno and also taking features from their mother. In my mind, I was keeping some finer features and coloring from the Queen in Siegfried, and Benno is supposed to look a bit more like their father (though his gloriously broken nose makes him look quite different.) Not sure If I’ve been totally successful, but I was happy enough with the design.
Honestly, I think it would have been fun to show Siegfried’s parents more, because they were very fun, very much in love, and a very effective team. Maybe in the future. For now, enjoy.
Next week monday will be the start of Chapter 4! I hope everyone is excited and I’m happy to get started again!
Hey I picked up your comic at TCAF, love the King and Queen’s tender relationship here. Even though she was likely engaged, it was a good match it seems.
They look adorable! would at least like to see a little history for that!
