*internally screams from excitement and suspense*
Someone betrayed him! Stabbed him in the back?! Who is this old lover and isn’t that Rathborn holding Odet? Maybe turning him into a swan was the only way to save his life… or he is the one that stabbed him… will Odet want revenge on the person who did this? I bet he does… So many questions!!!
Judging from pages 35-36 and 37 of chapter 8, Odet got stabbed more than once, so someone probably had some vile intentions when they betrayed him…
Hmmm… I wonder, maybe Odet thinks Rothbart is the one who hurt him, but Rothbart only saved him, but won’t let Odet find out because he might fear the truth would hurt Odet more…
Just guessing, if it’s not that, then the suspense will be even greater!
(Also, “Rathborn”? Do you mean “Rothbart”?)
Well, this is happening. Betrayal! Murder! this is!! a thing!! that is happening!!!!
That guy, for the most part, looks like someone in the army. And not a lot like Rothbart…but…. it Could Be? The dialogue boxes that aren’t Odet’s are in different colors, though, and the two looks rather different as well. I sense a love triangle! Or something far crazier and more complicated than that.
While we’re at it… I’m almost suspecting odet has/had a twin. My comment on chapter 8 page 47 was one thing… second thing, an odet with long hair is “watching” an odet with short hair be murdered. It’s pretty silly, but reading into things is fun. Assassination, maybe…???
*dramatical suspense music starts playing until next Monday*
me: oh no, this is gonna be on my mind all week TT_TT I CAN’T WAIT!!!
The fact that Prince Siegfried is — in complete innocence — carrying around the knife that was used to stab Odet in the back is… is just… ;——; That’s a very weighted object you’ve got in your possession, Siegfried.
Wow, wow, wow!
Wow this is so nerve wracking not knowing the true back story! Did rothbart save the prince from death by turning him into a swan? Who stabbed him? I wonder if that was a long gone relative of the current prince who has the castle now? If so it would be so bizarre if he now has the knife that was used to stab the swan prince. Maybe Odets kingdom will be reborn once he finds true love or finds a descendant of the man who murdered him willing to give their life to save him. Maybe rothbart knows the magic of the Swan wears off if he stays gone from that enclosure to long and he looses his humanity. So maybe rothburn forces him to stay for his own good and fights him when he tries to escape or lashes out in angry frustration because he wants to save him, hoping the swan prince can one day get back what he has lost.
Is it just me, or does the man kissing him towards the bottom look eerily like Siegfried’s brother, and by extention, his father? Oh dear. That could end quite poorly if the reason “they are forgotten,” and “our kingdom has been here a while” are entertwined. This is offset by the fact odet did look at the royal portrait without a flinch of recognition.
The man with Odet has a similar nose as Benno…….distant relative? Or just the way you drew him?
Maybe Benno and Siegfrid’s father?…
Maybe the man with the beard later cruelly abandoned Odet or was killed, and the pain and bitterness turned sweet Odet into evil long-haired Odet.
